I like the concept and the spatial ambiguity, but I’m wondering if there might be a better way to create the feeling of a precarious view downward.

Another approach might be to embrace complete spatial confusion and have everything rotated off-kilter with some organized chaos.
I agree with Jason. The colors you choose really make it playful and allow for the background to make sense with the rest. Pink and green were great choices to compliment each other for highlights/shadows
